Tecovirimat-d4 (ST-246-d4) is a deuterium-labelled version of Tecovirimat (HY-14805). This orally bioavailable, selective compound is effective against various orthopoxviruses, including vaccinia, monkeypox, and smallpox. It targets the orthopoxvirus protein VP37, crucial for membrane envelopment of intracellular mature virus particles. Tecovirimat inhibits the cowpox virus V061 gene (homologous to vaccinia virus F13L), which encodes a major envelope protein (p37) essential for extracellular virus production. It can be utilized in orthopoxvirus-induced disease studies.
- Can be used as a tracer.
- Can be used as an internal standard for quantitative analysis by NMR, GC-MS, or LC-MS.
